The 10G Ethernet CNA provides the best networking performance available in the industry, whether the physical port is configured in an emulation mode using the virtual switch in the Virtual Machine Monitor (VMM), or is directly assigned to a virtual machine. In the emulation mode, Intel’s I/O technology, Virtual Machine Device queues1 (VMDq) optimizes network performance by offloading data sorting and copying from the software Virtual Switch in the VMM to the Intel Ethernet Controller. This configuration is best suited for a large number of VMs running standard applications that have limited bandwidth and latency requirements.
25 Gigabit Ethernet CNA are designed for Servers and high-end appliances. It is based on Intel XL710-BM2 Ethernet controller with fully integrated Gigabit Ethernet Media Access Control (MAC), and SFI Interface. In addition to managing MAC and PHY Ethernet layer functions, the controller manages PCI Express packet traffic across its transaction, link, and physical/logical layers. Using hardware acceleration, the controller offloads tasks from the host, such as TCP/UDP/IP checksum calculations and TCP segmentation.
The 25 Gigabit Ethernet CNA is the ideal solution for implementing multiple network segments, mission-critical high-powered networking applications and environments within high performance servers.
40 Gigabit Ethernet CNA is designed for Servers and high-end appliances. They offer simple integration into any PCI Express X8 to 40Gigabit Networks. The performance is optimized so that system I/O is not the bottleneck in high-performance networking applications. They are based on Intel XL710AM2 and Intel XL710-BM2 Ethernet controller with two fully integrated Gigabit Ethernet Media Access Control (MAC) and XLPPI Interface.
The 40 Gigabit Ethernet CNA is the ideal solution for implementing multiple network segments, mission-critical high-powered networking applications and environments within high performance servers.
